Keep proportions
Change one dimension and FiveMinFree calculates the other so circles stay circular and faces do not become stretched.
Change photo and image dimensions without installing an app. Resize by pixels or percentage, preserve proportions, fit inside a box, crop to fill, and save the result directly to your device.
1 · Choose an image

2 · Set the dimensions
Keep proportions is active. Move the slider to resize the image proportionally.
3 · Output
This tool resizes images in your browser. The source and finished image are not uploaded to FiveMinFree.
Practical image sizing
Large camera and phone images can be far bigger than a website, email attachment, profile image or online form actually needs. Reducing the pixel dimensions can cut transfer size and make an image easier to work with while retaining the aspect ratio you choose.

Useful when a site specifies a maximum width and height. The whole image remains visible and is scaled to fit within those bounds.
Creates exact dimensions without distortion by cropping the center of the source image where necessary.
For large downscales, the High quality option reduces the image progressively before the final render instead of relying on one very large jump.
For photographers & designers
Resizing cannot restore detail later. Keep the original full-resolution camera, RAW or edited master file and create smaller delivery copies from it.
For websites and displays, the actual pixel dimensions determine how many pixels the image contains. Print workflows may also care about physical size, PPI/DPI settings, color profiles and printer requirements.
EXIF metadata, GPS information and some embedded color-profile information may not survive a browser-generated result. That is often useful for privacy, but professional archival workflows should keep the source file.
Reducing dimensions often reduces file size, but the exact result also depends on the output format, quality setting and image content. This tool targets dimensions rather than an exact KB or MB limit.
Quick answers
No. The Image Resizer creates the resized copy on your device. For advanced formats such as RAW, PSD or XCF, use the separate Image Converter first.
Yes. Those are the main formats this tool is designed for. GIF, BMP and AVIF can also be opened when your browser can decode them; GIF resizing creates a static image rather than preserving animation.
Use Fit inside when the entire image must remain visible within maximum dimensions. Use Fill and crop when you need exact width and height and are happy for the edges to be cropped to maintain the aspect ratio.
No. Upscaling adds pixels but cannot recreate genuine detail that was not present in the source. The scale control lets you choose exactly how much larger or smaller the result should be.
* AVIF output appears only when the current browser can encode AVIF locally.
